At Centre de langues POINT3, we recognize the urgent need for climate action and the responsibility all organizations share in building a more sustainable future. We are committed to doing our part by measuring our environmental impact, setting ambitious goals, and integrating sustainability into how we operate.

In 2025, we joined Canada’s Net Zero Challenge (NZC) to formalize our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to contribute to a more sustainable future for our community, our industry, and the planet. This marks our formal commitment to reducing GHG emissions and working toward net-zero by 2050.

We are proud to have developed our first GHG emissions inventory in 2025, using the internationally recognized GHG Protocol. As a small business, we may have a modest footprint, but we believe every action matters.

POINT3 oversees the implementation of the net-zero strategy, with input from the operations and finance teams. All decisions related to emissions reduction and energy use are reviewed monthly. Climate considerations, including our 2050 net-zero target, are integrated into our decision-making processes.

Our net-zero strategy focuses on:

• Reducing Scope 2 emissions, mainly from office electricity use
  
  
• Assessing and addressing Scope 3 emissions, such as employee commuting and business travel
  
  
• Avoiding Scope 1 emissions by maintaining low-impact operations (e.g., no company vehicles or fuel combustion)

As part of our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, POINT3 has set a first interim target to reduce Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions by 33% by 2030, relative to our 2025 baseline. Specifically, POINT3 commits to reducing its Scope 2 emissions through improved electricity efficiency in office operations, and to reducing relevant Scope 3 emissions by promoting low-carbon commuting, minimizing business travel, and optimizing purchased goods and services. This milestone allows us to track progress toward our long-term goals and demonstrates our commitment to measurable climate action. Our interim target will be updated as we refine our data and expand our Scope 3 inventory.

A second interim target, aligned with a 2040 horizon, will be published before 2030 as our emissions data, reduction pathways, and operational insights continue to develop.

Our ultimate goal is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and we are committed to reviewing and improving our strategy annually.

POINT3 has taken important initial steps toward net-zero emissions, including:

• Established our 2025 baseline GHG emissions inventory
  Our first comprehensive inventory follows internationally recognized standards and covers Scope 2 emissions from electricity and estimated Scope 3 emissions from employee commuting, business travel, and purchased goods and services. Scope 1 emissions are currently not applicable.

• Disaggregated reporting for Scopes 1, 2, and 3
  All Scope 1 and 2 emissions are reported separately, and Scope 3 categories are quantified individually to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Developed a science-aligned net-zero target for Canadian operations
  POINT3 has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Our first interim target aims for a 33% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, with a second interim target for 2040 to be published before 2030 as data and operational insights evolve.

• Excluded land-use change emissions
  Land-use change emissions are not relevant to POINT3’s operations and are therefore not included in our inventory.

• Committed to greater transparency and continuous improvement
  We publish an annual Sustainability Report outlining our emissions profile, progress toward targets, reduction measures, and future action plans. POINT3 also plans to pursue third-party verification to enhance credibility and confidence in our reporting.

POINT3 is focused on continuously improving our climate strategy with the following priorities:

• Refining and publishing detailed Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data.

• Implementing reduction measures, including energy efficiency and supplier engagement.

• Reviewing and updating interim targets, including publishing the 2040 target before 2030.

• Pursuing third-party verification of our GHG inventory.

• Embedding climate considerations into operational and financial decision-making, with monthly reviews and annual public reporting.

Through these actions, POINT3 continues to build a measurable, science-based pathway toward net-zero by 2050, ensuring sustainability is at the core of our operations and strategic planning.
